Faced with the heartbreaking reality of their three children experiencing progressive vision loss, the Pelletier family resolves to make the most of the time they have left together while everyone can still see, embarking on a journey to some of the world’s most remarkable and vibrant locations. For roughly eighty minutes, we witness their adventure as they explore by sea and air, marvel at incredible natural wonders, and above all—enjoy themselves as a family who understands that carefree days are soon to be over. The parents, Édith Lemay and Sébastian Pelletier, balance a great deal as they attempt to create a normal atmosphere for their children while constantly aware of the difficulties ahead. It doesn’t appear that finances are a barrier, allowing Mia, Léo, Colin, and Laurent to eagerly participate in this travelogue—and at times, their enthusiasm for life and for one another is truly uplifting, even for viewers. The cinematography beautifully captures some of the world's stunning sights, and the dialogue consists mainly of brief exchanges rather than formal narration, which I found effective, though occasionally it felt like I was listening in on a private conversation. Of course, not everyone has the means to respond to an impending crisis as this family does, but what’s striking isn't the extravagance of their journey; it's how they, as a conscious and connected group, manage to handle the trip—complete with occasional outbursts—in a way that offers hope for a future that will be different yet filled with unforgettable memories built on strong family bonds.
