This is a warm, amusing narrative concerning a young man whose perspective shifts dramatically when a friend shares with him the music of Bruce Springsteen. Viveik Kalra delivers an appealing performance as the character “Javed,” and Dean-Charles Chapman also impresses in his role as the frustrated "Matt." The soundtrack functions effectively to tell a story about growing up, all while exploring themes of prejudice, intolerance, adolescence, and emotional turmoil. It brought back memories of late 1980s Britain, when people really had to wait in line at record shops – many of which no longer exist – just to get concert tickets, occasionally as early as midnight. Keep an eye out for “Peggy Carter,” who plays his teacher.
