It's hard to overstate just how visually impressive this movie is; it’s among the most gorgeous films I’ve ever encountered. To be upfront, I'm not someone who deeply analyzes complicated philosophical ideas, and the kinds of questions raised by the Blade Runner series – what defines a person or genuine existence – aren't really things I enjoy thinking about. However, even if you don’t care for movies in general, Blade Runner 2049 is an exceptional work. The vibrant neon lights against the bleak, gray cityscape of Los Angeles in 2049 are truly stunning to behold. Each shot feels like a rich and detailed experience, relying on tangible effects despite its futuristic setting with flying vehicles and advanced technology. Though some portions of the plot and action sequences felt somewhat deliberate, Blade Runner 2049 manages to hold your attention from beginning to end.
