It’s hard to resist a Liam Neeson action film, but this one falls short. It comes across as an uninspired and easily dismissed spy story. The writing is clumsy, alternating between too much explanation and dialogue that feels like something written by a fan; it also includes noticeable attempts at progressive messaging that come off as heavy-handed and contrived. I didn’t find myself invested in any of the people involved, because they felt more like exaggerated representations than believable individuals. While the final fight sequence was enjoyable, it isn't enough to make up for its shortcomings. Neeson’s age is apparent throughout, with him visibly struggling with even simple movements. The storyline essentially revolves around a man unsure whether he's working for the right side or the wrong one! I wouldn’t recommend spending your time on this.
