This neo-noir thriller is skillfully crafted and boasts strong performances from Douglas, Garcia, and Takakura; Yûsaku Matsuda deserves particular recognition, as he participated in the film despite battling bladder cancer and tragically passed away at just 40 years old. While it doesn't quite reach the heights of Scott’s other films, the cinematography is excellent, thanks in part to Jan de Bont’s work behind the camera. **4.0/5**
