It's certainly not as good as the first one, and some of the performances are notably weak, but there’s a clear sense of purpose. The aim seems to be balancing the need to acknowledge what came before while also creating something distinct enough to frustrate those anticipating a straightforward reimagining. My rating: ★★½ – There were aspects I really liked, even though it didn't fully succeed as a complete package.
