I prefer my own ending—not the one they gave us! It turned out to be a fairly unexpected movie, though not particularly impressive. I did find myself enjoying it quite a bit. The storytelling was exciting, suspenseful, and moved along quickly. This is generally the kind of film I appreciate. If you’re looking for entertainment rather than something that aspires to greatness, then you'll probably like this one too. Just the initial part felt slow, but once the movie's premise really got going, it was pretty much non-stop fun. The later sections involve conversations between the two central characters who are stuck in a remote location. It’s a fantastic setting and with all that unfolds, the film really pulls you in. A writer struggling with alcoholism is helped out by a stranger at a diner and invites him back to his place for shelter from an approaching storm. The stranger then offers to assist with the writer's work, which extends his stay. Through their conversations, the writer learns more about this person he’s welcomed into his home. The stranger’s intentions become clear, leading to conflict between them. What follows is a reveal of where everyone ultimately ends up, complete with a surprise at the conclusion. Once the second act gets underway, you'll find yourself trying to figure out what might happen next. By the end of that section, I had considered at least four or five different directions the story could take. With so many possibilities, it’s hard not to enjoy a movie like this. Whatever I thought would occur, didn't actually play out. That’s another reason why I liked it. The twist was well-done, as were the performances by Jonathan Rhye Meyers and Antonio Banderas. However, when things seemed to be going really well, the final scene before the credits let me down. It honestly shouldn't have been included; that’s also why I wasn’t a fan of 'Prince of Persia'. Aside from those last few seconds, it was a decent film. _7/10_
