This suspense film is enjoyable enough to warrant a single viewing. The narrative begins with reports of disappearances, then introduces a solitary writer abandoned by his wife. He encounters a young woman who assists him in selling his house. Struggling with writer's block, he becomes increasingly frustrated and ventures out to a local café. During this trip, he clashes with a truck driver who prevents him from passing, leading to an exchange of insults. After arriving at the diner with the girl, the truck driver confronts him, but a mysterious stranger intervenes, intimidating the driver before they both depart. Feeling indebted to his rescuer, the writer seeks him out and offers transportation. He then pressures the stranger to pause at his home before continuing on their journey. However, it quickly becomes apparent that the stranger has no immediate plans to leave….and that’s where the story takes an unexpected turn; I won't reveal any further details. It’s a film best experienced once, and features some clever plot developments. I would recommend this movie to a wide audience. The cast includes: Jonathan Rhys Meyers, known for his role in Mission Impossible 3. Antonio Banderas, recognized from Desperado, Shrek 2, among other films. Piper Perabo, who appeared in The Prestige and Looper. My rating is 7/10.
