I didn't have high hopes going in, and I was pleasantly taken aback that the film ended up being a pretty good, inexpensive science fiction movie – until the artificial intelligence-generated visuals appeared. That’s when my enthusiasm lessened considerably. There’s always a certain apprehension with smaller films like this, as you wait to see if it will veer into preachy territory or reveal some kind of bizarre agenda from the filmmaker. Fortunately, that didn't occur; it's simply a fairly uncomplicated mystery science fiction story. However, the positive impression I had was diminished by the inclusion of generic AI-generated video for some basic explanatory background footage in the final act. The frustrating thing is that it felt completely superfluous, and even standard stock footage would have been an acceptable substitute for what they used. I was leaning toward giving it a 60% rating based on the effort put in, but I had to lower the score because of that artificial intelligence sequence.
