I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this film on the big screen. It’s undeniably over-the-top and full of exciting action sequences, but it also manages to tell an emotional story centered around Black Adam. The way they revealed Black Adam's history was quite clever; it remained largely hidden until later in the movie. Dwayne Johnson seems perfectly suited for the role of Black Adam—he commands attention and makes a strong impression in every scene as this anti-hero. Although the Justice Society’s backgrounds weren't explored within the film itself, there are prequel comics that provide those details, which I found really interesting. It's clear these comics exist to encourage readers to dive into more stories—they’re currently doing something similar with *The Flash*. The movie actually picks up directly after the Doctor Fate comic series concluded, so it doesn't feel disconnected. Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate was particularly memorable; he clearly invested himself in the character. Aldis Hodge also stood out in his portrayal of Hawkman. Sabbac, the unexpected villain introduced in *Black Adam*, is a welcome addition to the *Shazam!* universe. If there are magical protectors, shouldn't there be someone representing the opposite? Sabbac fills that role. The fight between Doctor Fate and Sabbac was quite impressive. Despite what some critics have said, I had a genuinely good time—it wasn’t nearly as disappointing as many suggested. Don’t forget to stick around for the mid-credits scene!
