Bird Box: Barcelona presents a new angle on the narrative, centering on a "seer"—someone who lives through the initial devastation after encountering the dangerous force. The film generally progresses in chronological order, incorporating short returns to earlier events that aim to develop the characters, particularly the central figure. Although it provides more visible encounters with the creatures themselves, the emotional impact and connections between the characters don’t measure up to what was present in the first movie. A somewhat dubious scientific explanation appears at the conclusion, which detracts a little from the feeling of realism that had been established. Even so, it's an acceptable continuation for people who enjoy this particular world.
