The film centers on a man who is continually nagged and criticized by his wife, never quite meeting her expectations. After she leaves one day, he starts a load of laundry; when lightning strikes the machine, a beautiful woman made entirely of bubbles appears inside. He initially believes things are looking up for him, but his hopes are dashed by his wife’s unexpected return and complaints about the mess he's created. Later that night, he tries to revive their relationship, but something unfortunate happens. Does this leave him disillusioned? The film relies on some tired tropes reminiscent of "Steptoe," yet it is also a spirited animated piece that pokes fun at a marriage that has run its course. It feels like the last gasps of the “Carry On” style of humor, which now seems outmoded, but I still think it’s worth seeing.
