Roger Ebert once called the Italian-American horror film Beyond the Door 'scary trash', but I really enjoyed it. This movie, directed by Ovidio G. Assonitis and Robert Barrett, is genuinely frightening—exactly the sort of independent horror film I appreciate. It sticks with me vividly because my godmother took my brother and me to see it at the Chicago Theater in 1976. The experience lingered long afterward, even the day following. It’s a fantastic cult horror movie, and something every horror enthusiast should check out if they haven't already. You might want to treat yourself to something fun after watching Beyond the Door...if you’re brave enough. 😂
