I genuinely hoped to enjoy this, however, the narrative and its people felt underdeveloped, making it difficult to connect with them. The humor feels scarce, and the central plot relies on tired tropes, portraying romantic feelings and physical attraction without much believability. While there’s a suggestion that it draws from real-life experiences, even that – along with Colin Morgan's captivating performance in the leading role and Jack Rowan’s appealing portrayal of "Harry" – can’t elevate it beyond its average quality. It's disappointing, but I suspect Simon Amstell may have been too personally involved to create something truly successful or free from awkwardness.
