This movie feels like _Scooby-Doo_, but with a darker tone and no cartoon dog. Dennis Quaid portrays an unsettling mortician in a small town of central Texas. A group of young people break into his house looking for excitement, and things quickly spiral out of control. Quaid and Aimee Teegarden are among the performers, though Tony Oller really stands out as the main character; he brings to mind Robby Benson. Like I mentioned earlier, the narrative shares similarities with a _Scooby-Doo_ mystery, but presented in a grounded way. Quaid’s performance is exaggerated and occasionally theatrical as the antagonist, while the other actors maintain a serious approach. The dramatic music and several genuinely heartfelt moments were unexpected.
