I can definitely say *Being John Malkovich* is a unique film! I’d been wanting to watch it for some time simply because of its unusual title, and now that I've seen it, I'm glad I finally did. It seems odd at first glance, but by the conclusion, it becomes... almost conventional? From the initial scenes and how it’s categorized on Wikipedia, I anticipated something more overtly artistic. Fortunately, that isn't what it turns out to be. There's certainly a deeper layer of meaning present, and I won’t claim to have understood every bit of it, but ultimately, it’s fairly straightforward. It is impressive and original, without question. It’s wonderful that John Malkovich participated in this project; apparently he was “half intrigued and half horrified” when he initially read the script – which I can certainly understand! John Cusack, Cameron Diaz (it took me a while to recognize her), and Catherine Keener are all excellent portraying (or inhabiting?) JM. My only real complaint is that it didn’t maintain the humor seen in Craig's first encounter with Lester; that style of comedy, reminiscent of *Airplane!*, really worked well. There’s plenty of funny moments throughout, but Lester’s (and Floris’s) dry delivery is what I found most amusing.
