The attempt to create an artistic feel with grainy visuals ultimately fails when the story itself isn’t engaging enough to compensate. The poor production values are distracting rather than adding to any aesthetic merit. It's a difficult film to sit through, and that stems from its lack of substance, not from anything inherently wrong with how it looks. Frankly, it feels tedious from beginning to end.
