A story about a chance encounter with someone unfamiliar! This marked Chris Evans’s debut as director in his fifteen years of acting. Numerous performers have attempted this type of project, and while some have found success, others seem to gravitate toward less expensive, straightforward productions to steer clear of potential problems. He also served as producer and starred alongside British actress Alice Eve. The movie centers around a premise of an unplanned night together; it starts when a young woman misses her train and is then compelled to spend the evening with a stranger after having her purse stolen. As they explore the city, a small adventure unfolds while waiting for the next train. It’s genuinely a good film. The script is well-crafted, and the nighttime urban setting creates an appealing atmosphere. My issue was that I've encountered similar movies before, so this one felt decent but not exceptional. It remains a worthwhile movie and I would suggest it to those who enjoy drama-romance stories. What stood out most was the actors; their chemistry was fantastic. The narrative itself was quite good, though as mentioned, it’s rather straightforward. The film isn't simply about two people meeting and forming a connection; they each share the reasons for being in the city. Initially, these revelations are casual, but the underlying truths emerge as they begin to trust one another. Each person's backstory has its own unexpected element that helps them deal with something they’ve been struggling with. The movie gives the sense that these two characters were meant to be together, but it isn't until the very end, at sunrise, that their fates are revealed. It’s not particularly ingenious, but it’s an enjoyable little film—perhaps ideal for a date night. 6.5/10
