It feels like there’s a new movie centered around “time loop” concepts all the time, and I've seen quite a few of them. When I first saw the preview, my initial reaction was that it seemed repetitive. A "time loop" is just an idea, but this one uses it in a distinctive way. The film focuses on a high school student whose Cupid’s Day—a significant day for her—takes a turn when something goes wrong and she finds herself reliving the same day repeatedly. The movie then explores how she attempts to figure out what's causing it and find a way to stop it. The familiar elements are there, but the plot is crafted thoughtfully around them. In some ways, it resembles “Groundhog Day,” although this one deals with a teenage character and has a more serious and somber tone. We’ve all wished for another opportunity, and that's essentially what inspired this film—but on a larger scale, with a message geared toward young adults. The acting is quite good, especially Zoey’s performance. Certain moments felt foreseeable, leading me to imagine several possible endings that didn't occur. I also felt let down by the resolution; it wasn't the most satisfying outcome, although there was an unanticipated turn of events. The film originated from a book with the same title. It’s a low-budget production that still manages to be quite good quality. The direction was solid and visually appealing. It’s certainly worthwhile for a single viewing. _6/10_
