Dickinson takes a risk with his portrayal, managing to be believable as an adolescent struggling with his sexuality who maintains three separate relationships: one with a girlfriend, another among a group of friends with traditional views on masculinity, and a third involving anonymous encounters sought online or in public spaces. While the narrative itself isn't groundbreaking, this version feels more raw and intense than typical depictions of coming to terms with one’s identity. I found his character difficult to like; he consistently uses people to his advantage and faces consequences as a result, displaying a lack of consideration, impulsiveness, and self-centeredness. It’s not an easy watch and the pacing can be deliberate at times, but it seems likely that many young men are experiencing similar struggles with their sense of self and reacting in comparable ways. Keep an eye on this actor; I think he has a promising career ahead.
