The casting of Greenwood as Batman felt strange initially; it was almost like seeing JFK in the role. However, I didn't realize it was him until quite late in the story. The show struggles with its setting, seeming unsure whether to evoke Victorian London or H.H. Holmes’ Chicago. It has difficulty settling on a consistent atmosphere, but because Gotham is imagined, this inconsistency doesn't entirely detract from the experience. Ultimately, it's an enjoyable Elseworlds tale designed to disregard established storylines and allow creative freedom for the writers. Batman proves well-suited to the setting, and they successfully integrated Bruce Wayne into that time period—something many writers overlook.
