The unfortunate timing of this movie’s release created problems for it. Had the setting been different, things might have gone better, but the parallels between the plot and the Paris terror attack were striking. It wasn't connected to that event, certainly, yet the subject matter felt very heavy. That could also explain why the film hasn’t performed well. I didn’t find much to like about it; really, the narrative was what bothered me most. The initial portion seemed overly sympathetic toward those involved in acts of violence, which I strongly disliked, though the final thirty minutes were at least passable—not great, just acceptable. The director, known for 'Eden Lake', brought a familiar story but presented it in a way that felt fresh. Most elements are foreseeable, but a surprise during the beginning of the third act did elevate things somewhat. The film moves along quickly, building momentum as it progresses. However, those developments ultimately fell into well-worn territory. The acting was adequate, and there were some reasonably impressive action sequences. I’d say it's fine for casual viewing, but that’s about it. _6/10_
