It can be tough navigating everyday existence, especially when you’ve had an unusual upbringing! This movie aimed at a teenage audience avoids the typical romantic comedy tropes. There are some familiar elements present, but they don't feel overwhelming given that it's primarily an action film. The actors were well-chosen; Hailee was impressive, and Dove Cameron did a good job too. The appearances by Samuel L. Jackson and Alba felt adequate. It comes from the director of 'Fanboys'. The plot revolves around a young woman who was raised to be an assassin and runs away in search of a regular life. She finds it difficult adjusting and confronting issues stemming from her past. It's a pleasant, diverting film if you aren’t looking for something groundbreaking. There are some really good action scenes. Aside from Samuel L. Jackson’s appearance, it’s geared towards a female audience and should appeal to most viewers. I found it enjoyable, but I don’t think a follow-up would be worthwhile, especially considering the film didn't fare well with critics. While I recommend seeing it, I’d give it an average rating. Sometimes there’s a disconnect between how much you enjoy something while watching and what score you ultimately assign to it afterward. _6/10_
