This film is completely ridiculous! The central plot feels utterly far-fetched. Still, it’s intended as entertainment and I suspect the audience isn't exactly my age group; this is clearly aimed at teenagers. Despite that, there's still a bit of a child inside me because I found it pretty enjoyable, even though it could have been much better with less of a “Hollywood” feel and more thoughtful direction. I’d describe it as a decent movie for families. Though not really suitable for very young children due to the action sequences. Calling it a family film will likely upset some people in conservative areas because of that same action, plus there's some partying depicted, including drinking alcohol—but hey, I'm Swedish; when I was a kid, a long time ago, almost every teenager had tried HB, which is the Swedish term for “Hembränt,” or home-brewed alcohol. Regardless, unless you’re extremely strict about morality, there isn’t much to be genuinely upset about beyond the story's absurdity—kids being trained as assassins from a young age. It might have been somewhat believable if it weren’t for those initial training scenes. Toddlers using machine guns and driving cars like Vin Diesel? Okay, maybe they were just slightly older than toddlers, but I was laughing so hard it was difficult to tell. What happens next is largely predictable (if you've read the description). The main character goes to school and discovers that not having a normal childhood isn’t as easy as she might have thought. This is where I feel there were many missed chances. She never really gets to truly shine; sure, she does some fighting, but it’s always wrapped in silliness. A more skilled writer could have made this a genuinely cool role, but as it stands, it's just mildly amusing. Naturally, some villains show up to disrupt things and we get more of the same action—though not badly, for what it is. However, the way it unfolds is somewhat disappointing; it’s simply lacking in intelligence. The beginning suggested these teenagers had been trained in everything, including their brains, but certain scenes were just unbelievable—and my teenage son made the exact same comment! Despite all that, I did find it quite entertaining. It's far from a masterpiece, but definitely worth seeing.
