It makes me curious what Jane Fonda would feel if she saw this outlandish science fiction film now, looking back five decades. This isn’t the only bad movie from that era – a lot of films were made in the late 1960s under the influence of drugs, making them indistinguishable from one another; however, it's surprising that Fonda accepted the part as an interstellar space traveler searching for "Durand Durand" and his (vaguely described?) “Positronic Ray.” The writing is awful, the person who got props clearly didn’t have enough money to use anything better than cardboard and plastic wrap, and the electronic music isn't much more captivating than what you might hear in a Soviet elevator from that period. John Philip Law was already over thirty when he signed on to wear an oversized diaper and some enormous angel wings as "Pygar," and Anita Pallenberg, playing “The Great Tyrant,” virtually disappeared from view afterward. It’s gained something of a following, but like many films described in the same way, people aren't really certain why.
