It’s okay; I could see myself watching it again, though I wouldn’t suggest it unless you’re planning a Bad Movie Night. I really hoped to enjoy this film—it had the potential to be something special, maybe even great, at one point. Even then, it would have been a strange kind of comedy, and the humor isn't bad. The production quality seems ridiculous when viewed today, but there are still some peculiar decisions that probably were meant for visual impact or as a joke. It’s important to remember how MPAA ratings have changed over time: the film opens with a "zero g" scene featuring nudity and exposed breasts (I wasn't close enough to tell if anything else was visible), and her chest is frequently exposed, sometimes partially covered by thin material, for roughly half of the movie's length, despite its PG rating. I’m trying to like it, but it gets so weird at times, and because Barbarella’s mission isn’t personal—it’s just an assignment—it’s difficult to become emotionally involved in what's happening.
