This is easily among the most unremarkable and commonplace suspense-thrillers I’ve seen in quite some time. It feels like something that would probably end up on Netflix if it were released now. While it's not unpleasant to watch, it's completely disposable. Nic Cage seems almost detached during his scenes—you get a mix of his more subdued acting style and the kind of performance he gave in *The Wicker Man*—and the rest of the cast is just fine, I suppose. There’s nothing fresh or inventive about this movie, and its only real distinction is that it managed to reach the top of the box office with one of the smallest opening weekend grosses ever, earning $7.78 million. **2.5/5**
