The movie Bait might not be revolutionary or exceptionally good, though it’s somewhat better than the usual cheaply made shark movies because of its unusual location. The premise and situation in Bait are reminiscent of Crawl, the alligator film from 2019. A tsunami leaves a few people stranded inside an underground supermarket that's now flooded, where they must contend with hungry sharks. The movie doesn’t reach the standard of films like The Shallows or Crawl, but it is quite decent considering it was made on a small budget and in 3D outside of Hollywood. I went into this anticipating a silly shark film with bad acting—which I enjoy—and ended up finding something slightly more polished. It's certainly not an example of excellence, but within its niche of films known for their low-budget charm, Bait demonstrates a bit more care and attention than many others.
