The concept behind this movie—a tsunami flooding an Australian supermarket and bringing Great White Sharks along with it—is certainly unusual, and the film embraces its absurdity. It’s a crazy idea executed with a lighthearted approach and the charm of a lower-budget production. As you might expect, familiar elements are present: numerous characters dealing with personal issues, individuals stepping up to be heroes or antagonists, frequent action sequences, moments of tension, and splashes of gore. Even some laughs emerge, particularly from the interactions of two teenage sweethearts who can't stop arguing. The visual effects aren’t always convincing, and there are definitely scenes that require a willingness to suspend disbelief, which is typical for this kind of film.
