This is where the story kicks off. The movie was created with very little money, using friends in front of the camera and filming during free time—essentially how New Zealand’s famous director Peter Jackson launched his career. It's rough around the edges: the masks and special effects are low-quality, the performances are strange, and the sound mixing is poor. Despite all that, it stands out as a remarkable example of do-it-yourself horror. You can really feel the enthusiasm and creativity in every scene. It hasn’t aged perfectly, but it still has a lot of appeal, and I'm glad I watched it when I was younger. Recommended for those who enjoy late-night movies from smaller studios.
