I wasn't really anticipating another one of these, particularly given the long gap—13 years—and my own feelings about the original film, which I found merely decent. I wouldn’t go so far as to call this a pointless continuation. The filmmakers brought back the key actors, at least two of them, along with the child actor who is now in his twenties. It follows a familiar structure. Those who saw the first movie will likely have an idea of what's coming, though perhaps not exactly how much of it there is—and that proved to be the central problem. It’s easy to anticipate the events and even the surprises. Like many sequels, this one feels diminished. Still, I found some enjoyment in it thanks to the cast's performances. It's an R-rated comedy, which is a plus for adult viewers. However, if that kind of humor isn't your thing, you might find it even more objectionable than its rating suggests. The running time was acceptable, and while the plot itself wasn’t complex, the characters didn’t feel fully realized, especially those introduced later in the story. The explanation offered was that it is a comedy film, and so they simply appeared and immediately revealed their intentions as if we were already familiar with them. Despite being an unremarkable movie, it's worth watching once, even if you weren’t keen on the first installment, largely due to Billy Bob Thornton’s involvement. _6/10_
