I find it striking that Netflix assigns this film a 7+ rating in my region. My reservations don’t really stem from any flaws within the movie itself; on the contrary, it features impressive animation, characters who feel fully realized, and a captivating storyline, to name just a few positives. Nevertheless, I'm troubled by what appears to be the message that wild creatures are safe if you make friends with them—a notion far removed from reality. Although the odds of a child running into a cobra on a playground are slim, I worry that this film could lead children to believe they can approach any animal without risk. It’s possible I'm reading too much into it.
