The combination of experimental filmmaking, French comedy with a purpose, and fantastical elements creates this movie. *Babysitter* begins with an incredibly chaotic feel that settles down somewhat during moments of introspection, both for the characters and the audience, as portrayed by Nadine, who is played by director Monia Chokri. The sections between the unusual beginning and the more thoughtful final portion are primarily fast-paced comedic scenes. The performances from all involved are quite good. *Babysitter* feels like a direct attack on sexism, harmful male behavior, and the underlying anxieties that men sometimes exhibit. Considering its approach and themes—all intended to challenge viewers—this isn’t going to appeal to everyone. However, if you don't tend to express those kinds of insecurities, it’s outrageously funny and politically inappropriate in a way that is seldom seen these days. It's refreshing to see a film that pushes boundaries like this.
