I had lessons about Vasco da Gama and Christopher Columbus once, but I don’t remember ever learning about Cortés facing off with dinosaurs. While searching this unfamiliar land, he and his men arrive near the Aztecs, and some of them are quickly captured by the local people who have clubs and painted weapons. These locals seem set on preventing any further intrusions and plan to sacrifice their prisoners—a couple of hungry T-Rexes. Besides the truly awful dialogue and underwhelming special effects, it's hard not to wonder who thought this movie was a good idea. It’s hardly frightening; it drags on far too long, and the silly romantic subplot involving Cortés (Ian Ziering), "Ayacoatl" (Dichen Lachman), and her shaman fiancé "Xocozin" (Kalani Queypo) is just plain irritating. Was this meant to be funny? I did chuckle when a cannonball bounced off one of the dinosaur’s skin! It feels like something that might have been shown very early in the morning on the Horror channel—filler programming. I suspect you'll get tired of it fast and begin hoping for T-Rex and his meal.
