I nearly rated this a four, and it likely comes across that way, but ultimately it didn’t quite reach that level for me; I appreciated it more than I truly enjoyed it. 'Away' isn't flawless, nor is it universally appealing. Despite its imperfections, the debut is remarkably impressive and visually striking, leaving me eager to see what Zilbalodis creates in the future—this Latvian animator deserves attention.
