The potential of this project was clear: pitting the iconic figures from "Predator" and "Alien" against each other could have been something worthwhile. It’s disappointing that Paul WS Anderson didn't invest more thought into selecting performers, because the result is a film populated by actors who feel very disposable. The story involves these two legendary adversaries clashing in an ancient temple where they once fought long ago. Upon reaching a sacrificial chamber, they trigger the release of eggs and "Predator" creatures, leading to a chaotic free-for-all where everyone becomes prey. While the visual effects are well done and the action sequences function adequately, my engagement was limited. I even found myself rooting for one side—though certainly not the human characters, who earned every agonizing injury they sustained. The film moves at a good clip, possesses an unsettling atmosphere, and concludes with a thrilling sequence, but it's ultimately let down by weak writing and unremarkable performances. A sequel is planned, and I’m hoping it improves significantly.
