It’s an enjoyable film that I anticipate rewatching and would suggest to others. Among assassin movies ("Smokin' Aces," "Kill Me Three Times," and "Hanna" are examples), this one stands out as exceptionally well-done, primarily because it offers something different. The familiar plot device of a character returning home after an absence often leads to explorations of reintegration and its impact on family dynamics, frequently resulting in dark comedies centered around troubled families. It doesn't entirely avoid that approach—though it handles it skillfully and concisely—but instead prioritizes survival because the core idea is that she brings her dangerous profession with her. Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, and particularly John Malkovich deliver impressive performances during fairly realistic (albeit occasionally brutal and unsettling) action scenes. Despite numerous elements surrounding the central narrative, the true emphasis, which proves worthwhile, lies in watching Diana grapple with the organization she’s a part of, knowing that it will inevitably end with either her demise or the organization's downfall. My only real disappointment is that Diana Silvers felt somewhat neglected; I’m optimistic that a future installment will give her character more prominence.
