It seemed like it had the potential to be enjoyable. It’s a spy film with a familiar storyline—the kind that suggests betrayals and complicated schemes. However, it fails to create the feeling of excitement and anxiety that characterizes well-made spy movies, nor does it provide the simple, diverting entertainment often found in action films. Ultimately, what remains is a movie lacking the gripping nature of something like "3 Days of the Condor" or "The Americans," while also falling short of the uncomplicated thrills associated with James Bond adventures. Everything necessary for success appeared to be present, but the execution didn't quite work. There’s an old Native American saying that suggests if you try to pursue two rabbits, you will fail to catch either one—and that’s precisely what transpired here. The film attempted to blend two distinct approaches to spy movies into a single project and never fully achieved either goal. You find yourself questioning whether the time spent watching was worthwhile. If they had committed entirely to one particular direction, it might have been exceptional.
