While people are capable of transformation, some situations simply go too far! The acting is quite good, and the production values aren’t terrible either; I found myself entertained while watching, though I didn't particularly care for the film. My feeling stems from having already seen several movies that surpass this one in every aspect. It revolves around a young student, his parents dealing with difficulties as a family unit, and an odd person living nearby—a premise I’ve encountered before, even if the specifics varied. There are moments of quality within it, but much of the movie felt overly sentimental, leaning toward predictable happy endings from very early on. Mickey Rourke appears in the lead role, but this is really Nat Wolff's story. The narration needed to be more sophisticated; I would have wanted a greater degree of complexity. I’m honestly unsure how it earned an R rating. Both the writing and direction could have been more ambitious. Some viewers appreciate it considerably and are vocal about their support, but my reaction was somewhere in the middle. It felt like a wash for me—neither enjoyable nor unpleasant. Ultimately, I simply hoped for something slightly better, so I can’t really say whether or not you'll enjoy it if you decide to watch. 5/10
