Be aware before seeing this movie that it’s considered intellectual science fiction. I strongly suggest giving it your full focus because it offers a truly satisfying experience; it's among the most intelligent and skillfully made science fiction films in recent memory. 'Arrival' represents Villeneuve's finest work to date. I won’t be discussing the plot details, so as not to reveal anything important. Villeneuve has created some remarkable pieces of art this past decade, including 'Prisoners', 'Sicario', and now this exceptional science fiction film, and I anticipate his career will continue with more outstanding movies. In a world where unanswered questions persist and the potential for life beyond Earth remains unconfirmed, 'Arrival' offers a fresh perspective on the genre, free of tired tropes. Bradford Young, who isn’t widely known, provides some of the most breathtaking cinematography I’ve ever seen, using the dim light of twilight to create the film’s distinctive visual style. Jóhann Jóhannsson’s score is also superb; it's both evocative and lovely. If you want a science-fiction story that keeps you intrigued and engaged, with excellent acting, beautiful visuals, music, and nearly perfect direction, then 'Arrival' is definitely worth watching. It was the best film of 2016!
