I’m giving this film two 10/10 scores – effectively a 20! One rating acknowledges the excellent direction, with truly remarkable performances from everyone involved, and cinematography that perfectly supported what was being told. The other recognizes the importance of the story itself; it's something we need to keep revisiting. A moment’s inattention can create an opportunity for people who are cruel and power-hungry to do terrible things to others. We have seen this happen throughout history, yet somehow we seem to forget that constant vigilance is necessary. It frequently happens gradually – a decline into permitting someone like Hitler, Pinochet, or Putin to undermine democracy, honesty, and fairness. Trump nearly brought us there. The initial situation appears harmless: Apple, along with those who buy its products and own shares in the company, contributes to oppression in China—a nation that has its own record of disappearances.
