It was disorienting from the start, possibly intended to leave viewers wondering what they were getting into. I found the connections between the central character and those close to her—her boyfriend and her closest friend—to be a highlight. Things then take a turn toward disorientation, and it's quite an elaborate fantasy reminiscent of 1980s horror finds. It shares some elements with "Malignant," particularly the concept of absorbed twins, but I wasn’t certain where the story was headed during its initial half-hour. The source of the unsettling events turns out to be hereditary, which isn't what I anticipated, nor likely what you do either. I encourage everyone to see this unusual film. You won’t believe how clever it is in its straightforwardness, and the way the story develops should bring a sly smile to your face, hopefully.
