The film *Anyone But You* manages to be entertaining and functions well within the romcom category, even if it’s not flawless. It’s generally not a good indication when the closing credits are the most enjoyable part of a movie, and that's true here (special thanks to Natasha Bedingfield!), but thankfully this is just an extra benefit for Will Gluck’s film. It relies on familiar tropes, yet it also introduces some new elements to the genre. Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have palpable chemistry together, and I found both of their performances appealing. Sweeney's costumes were excellent; even Powell's wardrobe was well done. Occasionally, their dialogue, along with that of other characters, felt a bit contrived, but that’s just a small criticism really. The supporting cast is generally acceptable. I especially appreciated the performance from Peter Gluck, the director’s father, who earned some genuine laughs with his brief appearance on the plane alongside Sweeney – his line delivery was spot-on. I found this to be an enjoyable experience. As mentioned before, it isn't particularly remarkable, but it provided exactly what I was looking for. It’s a good film; the Shakespearean references felt somewhat unnatural though.
