This film, *Any Which Way You Can*, is truly disappointing. It would honestly be faster to list the things I found appealing—and there were none—than to detail all of its shortcomings. The movie feels thrown together, and everything about it seems either illogical, awkwardly contrived, or simply boring. It’s also incredibly slow-moving; at one point, I glanced at the time just hoping to see that at least an hour and fifteen minutes had passed, but only forty minutes had gone by. Clint Eastwood does what he can and stands out as a positive element, while the rest of the cast is pretty unremarkable—this includes Sondra Locke’s Lynn, whose character seems completely different from how she was initially presented in the first film. There's also the strange handling of the orangutans behind the scenes. It’s hard to believe that this movie managed to break a Warner Bros. single-day box office record previously held by *Superman*. Those who saw it in 1980, you had my sympathies.
