To be honest, I initially believed it was science fiction; the title suggested as much, so I had to look up what it meant. It's centered around assassinations, taking place in 1940s Czechoslovakia during the early years of World War II. Exile soldiers were tasked with targeting Reinhard Heydrich, who oversaw Czechoslovakian affairs. The film details their preparations, the execution of the plan, and its consequences. A war movie based on true events—especially one set during WWII—should inherently be impactful. It was directed by the same person behind 'Metro Manila' and is an international production, though it doesn’t feature widely known actors. Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy aren’t exactly household names when it comes to promoting a film, which likely contributed to its disappointing performance at the box office. I found all of the performers enjoyable. The movie wasn’t as poor as critics have suggested; I recommend forming your own opinion after seeing it. It felt very precise and orderly in how it handled things. One problem was the excessive empty space, but the film truly gained momentum during the assassination sequence. The pace quickened again toward the end, concluding powerfully. I believe trimming the overall length would have improved the storytelling. While this didn't bother me personally, some viewers might find it slow-paced. It’s a low-budget production, but worth your time. The quality of the visuals and settings was excellent; they didn't cut corners, and much of it was filmed on location to create an authentic feel. It stands out as one of the better films about World War II. Actually, this isn't strictly a war film, but shares similarities with the recent Korean movie 'Assassination,' which involves killing a Japanese general. Films like these are important because they show how people, communities, and nations endured Nazi oppression. I definitely suggest watching it! _8/10_
