The opening line really stuck with me: _The past is never dead. It’s not even past._ What I appreciated most was how effectively the film managed its surprises and reveals. However, I do feel that the movie as a whole had potential to be stronger. The way it deals with themes of prejudice and unfair treatment felt appropriate. There were moments where the narrative could have explored supernatural elements, given the direction it seemed to be heading in. That being said, I didn’t find this psychological approach entirely unappealing. It's understandable that responses to this movie are varied; you’re likely to see a range of opinions. Ultimately, whether or not you like it is something only you can decide. I did enjoy watching it, but my enjoyment wasn't enough to ignore the film's shortcomings. It felt as if they took an idea and attempted to shape it into a complete story. The final product wasn’t exceptional, but neither was it terrible.
