My affection for Paul Rudd led me to anticipate a similar level of humor as found in 'The Guardians of the Galaxy,' but that expectation wasn’t met. The movie had visual appeal and demonstrated competent direction, though I suspect numerous revisions to the script—specifically, the changes in screenwriters, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish—detracted from it. It also seemed drawn out and uneven in its pacing. Nevertheless, a strong point was the quality of the special effects. ★★★
