Considering the difficulties during its creation and how long it took to get made, Ant-Man turned out remarkably well. Like with many Marvel superhero movies, reviews have been varied, but because it’s not as massive as other Marvel films, it manages to have a genuinely fun spirit. It's a film that looks at the Marvel Universe from an unusual perspective without going too far over the top. The visual effects are really good, and the story of how he got his powers is captivating. The movie maintains a certain ease throughout, and the actors seem happy to embrace the silliness of the comic book material. Of course, some parts are just silly—the hero's abilities aren’t exactly groundbreaking—and the family issues that run through the plot feel somewhat worn out. However, the amazing ending caters to our inner child, making it another successful Marvel entry poised for more Ant-Man stories. 7.5/10
