What a fantastic movie, *Anora* really delivers! The film is pure mayhem—I was so relieved when it ended and there was quiet again. I’m generally not one to analyze films for their deeper significance or anything like that; I leave that sort of thing to others. What I can say is that it's a genuinely enjoyable experience, and I thoroughly loved it. Mikey Madison gives an absolutely sensational performance—a real standout! It turns out I’ve seen her in three other projects previously (though they were smaller parts, I must admit), and I don't recall seeing her in them; but without question, I won’t be forgetting her work in this film anytime soon. Wonderful! Beyond the leading actress, Mark Eydelshteyn makes the most of his part as well. Karren Karagulian, Vache Tovmasyan, and Yura Borisov form a great comedic ensemble. I've seen Aleksei Serebryakov in various things over the years, and he tends to play similar types of characters—but I do enjoy his work. The 139 minutes fly by quickly, which isn’t surprising considering how chaotic it is. It’s not exactly hard to guess what's going to happen, since you're anticipating a big blow-up, but the journey to get there is incredibly entertaining—the final scene is particularly memorable. I still have three of the other nominees left to watch, but this surpasses *The Substance* as the film that would likely earn my vote for Best Picture; though I don’t place much importance on awards shows or anything like that. It will be tough to top!
