Going into this without preconceived notions and allowing yourself to get swept up in what's happening is beneficial; the various plot threads start to connect roughly around the middle of the movie. Until then, simply relax and appreciate the remarkable visual effects, camera work, and sound. There are also a handful of genuinely unsettling and frightening moments that could be difficult for certain viewers.
